Can having bone removed from a hip for a bone graft cause arthritis?
I needed back surgery when I was 12, and the surgeons took bone from each of my hips to make a bone graft for my back. I’m now 24. I’ve been suffering from arthritis-like symptoms in my left hip for a long time, and the pain has become more intense. Does anyone know if having bone removed for this purpose can actually CAUSE arthritis and/or what kind of treatment I should seek? (X-rays? PT?)
Best thing to go is to see your doctor. Arthiritis doesn’t tend to be caused from that, but who knows. If you’re having a lot of pain, see your doctor and ask him about the course of treatment
