The causes of chronic, head to toe muscular pain?
I have had chronic pain for 8-9 years (I’m 21 yrs. old). It started in my legs and then spread throughout my body until it was head to toe muscle pain, and joint pain. The joint pain was diagnosed as Gout (an acute form of arthritis in which uric acid builds up in the body and forms as chrystals on the joints). The joint pain has reduced alot after treatment. But I have yet to find out what the muscle pain is and get it treated. I thought a while back it was fibromyalgia, I need to ask my docter about that come to think of it. When I was in junior high I went to a physical therapist and they said I had very and unusally tight leg muscles…but that’s all they could determine at that time.
So does anyone know the list of the causes of chronic muscular pain? It is very debilitating and it hurts to do anything. The pain increases when I stand (can’t for very long), walk, sit, even lie down.
Thanks,
Amy
Amy, I suffer from an autoimmune disorder that leaves me with bad muscular pain and I’ve found some relief from taking the supplements calcium and magnesium together. They act in the muscles to relax them. And increasing water intake helped – dehydration can cause muscle cramping. Something I just recently learned is that a magnesium deficiency has a direct connection to chronic illnesses like fibromyalgia and now that I know that it made sense why the supplements worked when I tried them on my own. I was diagnosed with it about 10 years ago and the only treatment they offered me was steroids, which made me quite ill. I find life about as uncomfortable as you do and I’ve learned to tolerate a lot more over the years but it wears on you so make sure you take care of yourself. It’s affected my moods and I’m a lot crankier and fussy than I was before – I also believe meditating helps a bit because it does reduce stress, so I suggest you look into that as well. I wish you the best.
