I'm sorry about your grandmother I know how you must be worried. It is not easy to answer your question without knowing what type of cancer, it i. Hip cancer is not a medical diagnosis. I assume you mean is the cancer of the bone of his hip. His doctors are testing to see if it still has lung cancer that spread to his bones or it may be another cancer that spread there. The chances of having lung cancer that spread to his bones highest primary bone cancer. If this is the case, the cancer is unlikely to go away, but may be treatable.
