Hello, just to be told by a physiotherapist that I have arthritis of the left hip, which explains the dull pain in the groin?
and the left leg, but im having trouble sleeping because I can, t be LCC Commander lying on my left hip (which is my favorite team to sleep). Can anyone help with suggestions and does anyone else suffer like me with this problem ….. thank you.
Your therapist may indeed be correct, but the next thing you need to do is get your arthritis diagnosed by a doctor. Usually the diagnosis is easy to do – everything need is a litany of symptoms and plain X-rays and most cases can be diagnosed accurately. Yes, pain in the groin may be caused by osteoarthritis of the hip. I have had osteoarthritis in both hips (now both have been replaced). Here's what I done in the years preceding my hip: 1) I took a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) daily on the advice doctor. Whoever it was recommended that I try Aleve double the daily dose of OTC. I did this for about 4 years. It helped at first, then gradually became less effective. (There are other NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, aspirin, and there are also available Rx NSAIDs). 2) I had several sessions with a physiotherapist who gave me a regime of stretching exercises and that he thought would help me. I made the day for several years. They helped in the short term, but had no effect over the long term – I still had arthritis bad knees. 3) I am also primarily a side sleeper so I slept with a pillow between my. This keeps his right leg that is on the top body and prevents it from falling forward (which was a painful position for me). Finally, I could not lie flat on my back comfortably; do more at ease than I wedged my knees on a cushion of fat) 4. Finally, I could not walk without a cane and could not stand more than a few minutes. After several months of hobbling around, I finally got the message that hip replacements have been the only real remedy. I am pleased to announce he was 7 years old and my hips excellent job. No more pain, no pill, no box, and I can walk miles. The only regret I have is that I have not get the replacement a bit earlier.
