What do I do next about this mystery diagnosis?
I am completely blocked, and my doctors. I had many symptoms apparently unrelated to 3 months now: the weakness in the limbs, chest pain, muscle pain shortness of breath, fever, occasional low grade, joint pain, fatigue and eyestrain. I have been to my family doctor many times, the emergency room twice, a neurologist, a optometrist, and a cardiologist. Nobody can definitely find anyting wrong. They did blood work for diabetes, anemia, mono, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and Lyme disease. I had 3 ECG and I am scheduled for a stress echo next month. The only useful thing I heard was the cardiologist who said that everything I have is affecting multiple systems in my body (neurological, cardiovascular, etc..) Someone else had similar experiences? What kind of doctor I'm looking for or what tests should I ask? Thank you for any help. They ruled out MS and I think ALS. And thanks for prayers.
There is very little that can be the cause of those / affect several systems in the body. Lyme disease the most common vector-borne in the United States is A, and should be reviewed as a possibility, as it needs to maintain a fast processing of progress. The most common test Lyme (ELISA) are notoriously unreliable, as Rely on the body's immune response to infection, which is often moderate. I would say a test of ABX (Ie doxycycline for 3 or 4 weeks) then a break for 3 or 4 days, during which the blood is called point of a new test for Lyme. If have Lyme, so your symptoms will be substantially rounded the next day you start the ABX. In addition, Lyme antibodies, if the current is much more prevalent after ABX treatment, because it will lysed (killed) many bacteria Borrelia. The resulting pieces are what triggers the antibodies under Lyme Western blot "search".
