What are the most common causes of swollen lymph nodes in the neck?
The glands in my neck directly beneath my ears have been very swollen and incredibly painful for a few days now. I can barely touch them without them hurting. Someone suggested that I go to urgent care since my doctor cant see me for a few days. Is there anything that can be done about it without drawing blood or having other tests done? Also, what could the cause be? I read that rheumatoid arthritis can be a cause, and I am seeing a rheumatologist this week in regards to that. Is that a common cause or is it something that I shouldnt worry about? thanks.
the only cause of swollen lymph nodes is an infection. I had really painfully swollen ones when i strep throat.
