How can you reduce the itching associated with pain medications cons strong?
I was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, and I am currently in a very low thrust (can barely walk). My rheumatologist has me on 15mg of oxycodone (Brand name Roxicodone) every 4-6h, with prednisone and 800mg Motrin. The pain starts to get a little better, I can at least walk around the house again, but I am itching like crazy, which I'm sure is due to the narcotic medication. How can I stop this itching? Thank you.
Your doc would be the best answer for this. I would say something like Benadryl might work, but you have to watch all the interactions of drugs. Perhaps a topical cream for skin irritations help? Please call your doctor if … either the doc or nurses on staff are your best resource for that question!
