Sun Face Malar rash – Not Lupus?!?
For most of my young life, I am now 23 women, I had a rash solar doctor said recently, is the malar rash that is associated with lupus. My mother also has rheumatoid arthritis serious, I had a lab test conducted last week, ANA test, which showed negative for lupus. I have this rash Sun that develops on my checks and the bridge of my nose when I'm in the sun, there are approximately one week before fading out. It does not sting, has no bumps no pain, etc is just a very red burned Search. I was also chronic headaches, I have an appointment with a dermatologist made early to determine what is the cause might be, is it possible to test negative for lupus and it still?, this test can be done to others? What are the alternatives to my sun rash is there? Thank you.
Hi, Im sorry yor through this. I'm going to explain a certain number of things. First Lupus is called an autoimmune disease, where our own healthy cells think somthing is wrong to go into overdrive and start attcking our own cells. Then, there are several types of lupus, the two I willl cover are discoid (which only infects the skin), the other is SLE (Lupus / whole body). For a diagnosis of SLE, there are 11 criterion that needs to be respected. I list them at the end. However, most dr do Remember that for some reason. they tend to just watch the blood work and examine blood markers of antibodies, mainly somthing ANA has called. The fact is that healthy people can have a positive ANA all the time, and not be all bad, and people with lupus can have a positive ANA may (I do sometiems) or never. But for doctors, which seems to be the end all, escpecially from the beginning, and during the first two visits. Rash malar just dosent happen to healthy people. Only if they dont sunscreen to the area and they sun the rest of their face. It has been demonstrated that 5-10% may never positive blood work. another 20% will be there from time to time and may change on a daily basis. So while you, where negative that day, you can be a positive one. The criteria and the mindset of most doctors still use refers to its criteria in 1982 and created more than 20 years before your birth. Also migraines run heavily in lupus and other autoimmune paitents, and may fall within the central nervous system Criterion. A dermatologist can biopsy the area of your face. good, will be able to take little skin, and leaves little scarring. It appears that you meet Part of photosensitivity and lupus. So thats three. You need to see a Rhumotologist, and they need to watch you for months. A diagnosis can take months even a year. You must obtain a history of your health. write it, submit to a doctor, you do not know what is relevant. Personally, I went 4 rhuemotologists until I found one that actually listened took a life story (not all problems have to occur simultaneously. As a solution, you should avoid the sun, or wear a screen of 30 or more sun. and avoid the sun from 12:00 to 4:00. I have some problems with the sun, and swimming pool. I try not to swim during these hours. I'll give you a list of Lupus Diagnostic Test, see if it applies of you, if this is the case now, or in the past, make sure you tell your doctor. Also your blood may change at any time. Mine change all the time, depending on how my lupus is active. Criteria for diagnosis of health Yahoo: Diagnostic criteria for lupus The following criteria are used to distinguish lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus, or SLE) and other autoimmune rheumatic diseases. A person with 4 of these 11 conditions can be diagnosed with lupus, 3 symptoms suggest that lupus is probably present, and 2 raise the possibility of lupus. Symptoms may be present all at once or stretch over a period of time. A butterfly (malar) rash on cheeks Rash on face, arms, neck, torso (rash discoid) rash resulting from exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light (photosensitivity) Mouth or nasal ulcers, usually painless joint swelling, stiffness, pain involving two or more joints (arthritis) Inflammation of the membranes surrounding the lungs (pleurisy) or heart (pericarditis). This inflammation is called serum. Abnormalities in urine, such as proteins or increased mass of red blood cells or kidney cells, cells known casts in the urine of nervous system problems, such as seizure or psychosis, without causing any known problems with the blood, such as reduced the number of red blood cells (anemia), platelets or white blood cells Positive antinuclear antibodies (ANA) test Signs of increased autoimmunity (Antibodies against normal tissue), as shown by reference laboratory testing, I had Lupus since my teens, but has not been officially diagnosed until my late 20s, I'm now almost 40. I am also a researcher, and even lupus and autoimmune support Good Luck Chris Group
