What causes a person to have rheumatoid arthritis?
I was told that there is an underlying problem this disease, as the possibility of cancer. Is RA separate disease or results of other serious health problems? I wondered if anyone was a Rheumatoligist and if so, what are some treatments that use and you feel as if it helped? Thank you in advance for answer! 
My daughter was diagnosed with RA two years ago at the age of 8 years, has not been diagnosed for 3 years. Dr's do not know what he does, some think that a simple cold or infection can trigger, or it may be herditary. In my daughter, she the polyarticular form and has 38 joints affected. It takes methotrexatre (medicine against cancer) for injection every week. She concurred with this disease so wonderfully. She went from a child who could not walk more than 5 minutes to run now. She could not even make a half fist, and now, not a problem. She also received intra-articular injections in both shoulders, hips, wrists and right ankle and right knee. Of course, with cancer drugs can be problems such as the immune status of the immune system, and repeated blood tests (Every 4-6 weeks for blood test), but to see its function as a normal child is outweighing the negative side of drugs, but a long shot.
